Creating Food Photography – Delicious, Delectable, and Delightful
On a recent excursion with a group of photographers we all decided to practice our food photography. We created stations and laid the food on separate tables. We used a mixture of lights, and we tweaked the set-ups as we went. We had a great variety! There were cakes, bread, fruits, vegetables, you name it. I found quickly that certain types of lighting (more dramatic back-lighting for example) weren’t as good for food. It takes a certain type of light in order to make ordinary food look delectable. One thing I learned was that warmer colors tended to make things look delicious that are supposed to be warm, like bread, and cooler colors made things look more refreshing. So here below are some of the results of our experiments!
